Katy is the dyer behind Hummingbird Yarn. She lives in the Northwoods of Northern Minnesota and takes inspiration from the beauty around her.

In thinking about the colorway for this yarn, Katy said:

When I was a kid we traveled "Up North" every summer. I would ask my dad if we were there yet and his response was always, "When you see the white trees, you'll know we are close". Birch trees are an icon of northern landscapes.
